Yesterday we spent the day at the Cliffs of Moher and Galway. The Cliffs could be considered one of the most beautiful natural landmarks in the world as we know it today while Galway is a fun place to eat and snap a few pictures just to say you have been there.

On the Irish tourism website, the first thing that pops up is that Irish tourism is proven to double investment in China. Further down, the page has options for which country you identify from where you may make a selection and it will change the language or content based on the individuals background. I find it interested that although a global website, it has a sense of personability where individuals may find their identity and find relevance to themselves.

The Cliffs of Moher are notably the most beautiful landmark that I have ever visited and I would recommend them to anyone considering Ireland for their travel plans. On the other hand, I was very excited to visit Galway due to its fame from the world-renowned Ed Sheehan song, “Galway Girl.” When we first got there, we had trouble finding somewhere to eat as everywhere was packed which wasted a lot of our time. Eventually, we did find somewhere to eat and once we finished, we wanted to go shopping. I knew that Galway was a very tourist-y area, but I did not know it to that extent. All of the stores on the main strip were the same cheap souvenir shops that are able to be found all over Dublin. I was not interested in the fake merchandise and therefore Galway did not impress me as much as I had hoped.

Like any country, no one wants to be a tourist. If we had more time in Ireland, I would definitely want to travel throughout other European countries as I hear it is very cheap. I would recommended the Cliffs to anyone, but tell them to steer clear of Galway (even though I can at least say I have been there.) Familiarizing myself with Ireland and the culture to be less of a tourist is something I would do if we had more time here; but since we don’t, I’ll take pride in the tourist way of life.
