40 Hours and 8 Delays Later

Today was a rough one. We all work up early and were sad we had to leave. We packed the bus and left for Seoul at 7:30 AM. We had a six-hour drive ahead of us to the Seoul airport. Thankfully, I slept most of the bus ride and it went by quick. At the lunch stop, I got some very good fried chicken that hit the spot. When we arrived at the airport, we said goodbye to our local tour guides and headed to check-in. Luckily the lines for checking bags and security screening was very short and we got through with no problems. We had about two hours until our flight, so I ended up grabbing some snacks and looking around the airport. The Seoul airport was just incredible, and it had everything anyone could need. We finally boarded the plane and headed to Dallas. For the 12 hours, I didn’t sleep a minute which was truly unfortunate, but I watched some good movies and we finally arrived in Dallas. I got through customs quickly and then grabbed some Chick-fil-A. It was the best place to have my first meal back in the US. Sadly, my flight that was supposed to leave at 6:45pm ended up getting delayed to noon the next day due to poor weather conditions in Dallas. My morale was low and there were no available hotels. However, the group of us flying to Philly stuck together and slept at our gate in the airport. I slept from around 12 midnight to 3:30 AM, and luckily, we all got on an early flight to Philly at 5 AM. As I heard my named called from the standby list, I pumped my fist in excitement. I slept the whole plane ride and I was so excited to finally be back. I was sad that my trip had ended, but there is always time to revisit the amazing South Korea.
