Hi everyone and welcome to my blog! My name is Carina Rose and I am from 45 minutes outside of Philly (Phoenixville, if anyone is familiar). I’m a pretty outgoing person and I am always up for an adventure. I’ve always loved staying active and playing sports. I am on the club rowing team at Pitt and I have really enjoyed the experience so far. It has given me an amazing group of friends and allowed me to continue my rowing career from high school.

I’m a freshman in the Swanson School of Engineering. My major is engineering science on the nanotechnology/bioengineering track. This major gives me the opportunity to study engineering while offering the flexibility to take more classes outside of my major when compared to other engineering majors. Because of this, I am thinking about pursuing some kind of business minor. I am excited for the opportunity the Plus3 Cyprus program offers because it will expose me to business which will help determine whether a business major is something I was to pursue.

One of the reasons I chose Plus3 Cyprus is because Cyprus seems like a really unique place to travel. I have been to Europe before but Cyprus is located interestingly between Europe and the Middle East. This means it will have an fascinating blend of cultures that I am eager to explore. I can’t wait to immerse myself in the culture with my fellow Pitt students. I am also excited to visit the businesses in Cyprus and see how one small island can have such an important role in the world’s supply chains.
