- Hello everyone! My name is Jordan Carrier and I am from Center City, Philadelphia. As an avid food blogger (check out my food Instagram @philadelphiafoodgirl), I was ecstatic to learn that I have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to Ecuador to learn about chocolate and rose supply chain markets. Big surprise — I love chocolate! And I can’t wait to gain a deeper perspective on such a popular treat. Who knows? I may come out of this trip with a new food Instagram account named @ecuadorfoodgirl!
- Chocolate and flowers, or the equivalent of Valentine’s Day, have been heavily commercialized in the U.S. I am excited to step outside of our country’s point of view and gain new perspectives on these two commodities and their supply chains. Quite frankly, I am looking forward to traveling with my peers and exploring Ecuador, learning about interesting topics that relate to the business world, immersing myself in a new culture through Plus3’s experiential learning, and detaching from technology and social media for two weeks!
- Now for my personal introduction! I am a freshman majoring in finance and marketing with a concentration in psychology. I may pick up the business analytics certificate, but I have not decided quite yet. As of now, my career interests lie in investment banking, wealth management, and venture capital.
- Additionally, I am involved in the American Marketing Association (incoming co-Vice President of consulting), Undergraduate Finance Club (current director of outreach and incoming Vice President), Panther Equity (junior analyst), and Women in Business. In my free time, I love to work out, play basketball, read, eat, and listen to music. I also love to travel. I have been to Israel, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Canada, Puerto Rico, and next up…Ecuador!
