Plus3 Introduction: Nick Mucciola

Hello everyone! My name is Nick Mucciola and I am from Johnstown, PA. I am currently a junior at Pitt majoring in Marketing and Supply Chain Management with a certificate in Innovation & Entrepreneurship. On campus, I am a member of the Pitt Sports Analysis Club, Vice President of Marketing for the Sports Business Association, and a Campus Tour Guide for Pitt Pathfinders. During the school year, I interned with Pitt Athletics in the Media Relations department. This upcoming summer, I have a Sales and Customer Relations internship with Del Monte Foods. Upon graduation, I hope to use skills that I have developed at Pitt and in my internships to develop a career in Sales or Digital Marketing.

I will be attending the Plus3 Ireland Program in Dublin this summer. I am looking forward to having this opportunity to go abroad, as all of Pitt’s impressive study abroad programs were one of the main selling points for me to attend Pitt. During my first year at Pitt, I was accepted to the Plus3 Vietnam program. I was beyond excited to attend this program, but unfortunately due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the world shut down and the program was canceled. I was overjoyed to have a second chance of attending Plus3, and to go to Ireland. Ireland was not an option when I originally signed up for Plus3 my first year, but it seems like the perfect location for me.

There is no better way to learn more about Ireland’s history and culture than to immerse yourself in the environment. I enjoy traveling and hope to build my understanding of different cultures across the globe by participating. Ireland is also a hub for technology in Europe. I believe that there are many valuable lessons and skills to take away from visiting with tech companies in Ireland. These lessons can help me academically as I finish my degree. I also hope to gain knowledge in some of my career interests such as developing marketing strategies, supply chain management, and entrepreneurship at a global level.

In the end, I am excited to explore a new place in the world while also developing myself professionally.
