Hello! My name is Lauren Gulmert and I’m from Baltimore, Maryland. My parents are originally from California, and I have an older brother finishing his senior year at Georgetown University. I’m a triplet with a brother and sister also attending the University of Pittsburgh.

I’m a nursing student at Pitt-Greensburg campus. Currently, I’m active in the Black Student Union, Habitat for Humanity, and the Nursing Student Association. My professional goal is to work with children in the intensive care unit, as that’s where my triplet brother, sister and I all started our life journeys. Additionally, I hope to continue my education and receive a master’s degree in nursing.

I look forward to my upcoming study abroad program in Birmingham, England, as it was highly recommended by other nurses who have traveled internationally. I understand the hospitals in the UK are excellent and rank among the best in the world. I’m very interested to learn about health conditions in the UK and the differences in the US and UK health systems, particularly when it comes to preventive care. There is much to learn, and I can’t wait to experience it with my Pitt Nursing classmates.
