Hello! My name is Abbie Metheney (she/her) and I am from Somerset County, PA. I am an upcoming sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. I am currently pursuing my Bachelors in Science of Nursing (BSN). In school I am involved in the Student Nursing Association and Resident Hall Association. Out of school I enjoy skiing, camping, watching movies on rainy days, playing with dogs (I love dogs!), taking unnecessary Starbucks trips, and spending time with my family and friends. 

Going along on my current academic track, I plan on completing my BSN and possibly taking it one step further as a Nurse Practitioner after a few years of practice. Immediately following school I would like to participate in a few years of travel nursing in Emergency Departments throughout the United States in order to gain experience and find new opportunities. 

I am extremely excited to partake in this experience in Birmingham, UK because of the endless learning opportunities. Not only is this trip allowing me to learn a different health and education system, but also learning a different culture. As a future traveling nurse, this is an exciting experience to travel beyond the United States.
