Day 3: Enjoying Limassol’s Ports

With another early start at 8am we headed back out to Limassol. In the morning we visited Limassol port where we met with two of the three companies that run the port, DP World and Eurogate. DP World runs the economic part, dealing with cruise lines, cars and anything that doesn’t come in crates. Eurogate ran the container part unloading containers for trucks to take away. It was really cool to see how the two companies focused on maximizing efficiency in their small port. The tour also made me realize just how much goes into shipping things around the world and how much has the potential to go wrong.

The second half of the day was more casual where we first stopped for a group lunch, then headed to Limassol castle. Inside there was lots of really old remnants from the past and even a skeleton! We then spent the rest of our time walking around the old port of Limassol and taking in the beautiful scenery. This included visiting a local mosque and walking along the rocks of the marina. Some people even went for a little swim!

Overall another great day in Cyprus that had a mix of business and leisure!
