We could not keep ourselves from the beach for long! After breakfast at the hotel, checked out and went straight to the coast. Today we went to a different, much busier, beach, partially because that is also where almost all of the Pitt students from both groups were as well. The experience today was much more similar to my past experience at US beaches: chairs with umbrellas, people tanning and swimming in the ocean, beach volleyball, etc. We had a bit of trouble getting lunch in time to leave to come back to Nicosia, making our group realize the difference in timing in the food culture of Cyprus versus the United States. Luckily the restaurant staff was very understanding of our rush and let us take the food to go (they call it “take away”). We are back to Nicosia now and back to business tomorrow!
