When talking about ecotourism in Arenal, it’s easy to compare it to Monteverde. After all, both are located in areas with particularly high biodiversity and lush foliage. However, Arenal specifically has a higher amount of more traditionally ‘tourist’ attractions, like ziplines, rafting, and the like, to attract tourists here specifically.

Because there are so many tourist-y companies in the area, they face some competition when trying to burn in customers. Additionally, when the pandemic hit, tourists stopped coming all across the world, and some companies even needed to shut down.
