Today (May 14th) we spent the day exploring Munich. We took the train into the city and there were many beautiful farms and views on the ride down. Once we arrived in the city it was about 11 am and the bell at the town hall started ringing. Along with the bell, figurines at the top started moving around in circles. It was really cool because everyone in the Platz was watching the clock and each time the figurines moved the whole crowd would go “oooo.” I also took this time to buy a pair of sunglasses because it was a sunny day and I left my hat at the hotel. I looked really cool though because they were bright green and orange but also had the Bavarian flag on them.

Afterward, we took a tour of the city. We got to see many other beautiful places like the Frauenkirche and Maximilian Strasse. The architecture was incredible.

Then we got to spend a few hours to ourselves. A few of my friends and I went to get lunch outside at a Mexican restaurant. We figured we should switch up the food we were eating, but it was also the least crowded restaurant… I was shocked that the whole city was extremely crowded. It felt like there were more people there than in New York City. Eventually, we went shopping and it seemed like it was black Friday with the number of people and lines in each store. Although, I used the time to buy fun souvenirs to take home.
Then we finished early with a few minutes remaining before dinner so we found a park to sit in. After dinner, a few of us went on a walk before heading to the train station and explored more around the park. We found a large open area that had big buildings with columns. They looked like university buildings or a library, but it was really pretty. Then we went back to the train station and took the train home to end our day.
