Today was the latest time to begin our day as we departed for a short bus ride to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) at 11AM. The presentation room at the building was not what I expected because of the high-tech screens. First, we heard from Michael Muller via Zoom from Germany about autonomous supply chain eco-systems along with various industries such as semiconductor, medtech, pharma, engineering, automotive, etc. in regards to the use of artificial intelligence and digitization. After this presentation, we were able to rotate through three workshops: consulting, blockchain, and the circular economy. The idea of a “circular economy” really stuck with me, and it refers to the process of reusing, repairing, and recycling existing materials which benefits the environment. However, all three presenters provided great insights into their respective topics!
After an impressive visit to PwC, we returned back to our hotel where we had a few hours of free time before our farewell dinner at 7PM. During this time, a group of us enjoyed some lunch and ice cream, and we entered the Turkish side of Nicosia. We showed our passport at the security checkpoint and entered with no problem. Here, I noticed the numerous clothing shops that were selling counterfeit items and the Turkish music playing from restaurants. Also, we took pictures of a mosque currently under construction and stopped to glance at the items in souvenir shops before returning to the Greek side. At 7PM, both Cyprus 1 and Cyprus 2 ate a meze-style dinner at a restaurant in the New City.
