First Full Day!

The first day’s itinerary was filled, starting with a visit to the University of Augsburg followed by variety of cultural activities. Before getting the day started, I had breakfast at the hotel and was able to experience German breakfast for the first time, which mainly consisted of a wide variety of high quality bread, cold cut meats and cheeses, and good coffee.

After being properly fueled up, the street cars took the group to the University of Augsburg and showed us how efficient and clean public transportation is in Germany, Port Authority simply can’t compete with the German street cars or train system. After working alongside the German students to complete our first presentation about the companies that we will later visit, we all headed to the cafeteria to try the average German lunch, which was overall much healthier options made with high quality ingredients.

I explored the city through a scavenger hunt that allowed me to discover multiple crevices while simultaneously expanding my knowledge of the city of Augsburg. After the scavenger hunt, everyone reunited for dinner at an incredible Italian restaurant where we were able to have a family style dinner and conversate with the German students to gain more insight about what life is like in Deutschland and what the next days will look like.
