Day 11: Fin

What a quick two weeks it has been. It is already time to leave the tiny island of Cyprus. For our last day we had a visit to Vasiliko Port. Vasiliko Port is used by two company’s who presented to us. These companies were VTTV and a concrete manufacturing company.

Both of these companies share the port and use it to import products that are needed for production. The concrete or cement company has to import lots of fuels from outside the country to power their manufacturing. The concrete company has quarries around the island to mine for the raw materials they need. VTTV is a company that deals with unloading and loading of tankers at the port. VTTV stores energy and other essential products in a central and strategic location.

After the port, we had some free time at the Larnaca beach. The first thing Dylan, Matt, Renda, Landon, and I did at the beach was eat lunch. We had lunch at a place called 36 Bay. I got a brunch type meal with eggs, toast, halloumi and bacon. It was delicious. Then, we enjoyed our free time on the beach.

Looking back on the trip, I had a lot of fun. I am so happy that I took this opportunity. Not only did I have a great cultural experience in a new country learning about supply chains, but also I made a lot of new friends over these two weeks that I hope to stay in touch with for years to come. Thank you Cyprus, or should I say Cyproos.
