I think today was probably my favorite day. Surprisingly, the last day was the best, but I think today was when it hit me how much we had done together these past two weeks. Daniel, Jason, Semira, and I decided to meet a little earlier before the presentation to practice going through the slides. We were also able to do a practice run-through with the Webasto group, which consisted of Jerry, Phoebe, Peter, Julianna, and more. It was beneficial to watch their presentation because they were very well prepared and had everything timed perfectly. Our practice run was a little bumpy in terms of flow since the German students in our group were in class, and we had to skip over their parts. However, we had great timing, and Julianna, Phoebe, and Peter gave constructive suggestions and tips on how to improve our presentation.
We ate in the Mensa, the cafeteria at the University of Augsburg, for lunch. I ate a yummy Belgium waffle, fries, and pasta. After lunch, we presented our projects. Overall, the presentations were very long, but all the groups kept it engaging and exciting by cracking jokes or referencing inside jokes that the group had formed during the past two weeks. Once we finished presenting, we gave the German students our presents: Pitt t-shirts. After a quick stop at the hotel to change, we went to dinner with the German students at the Ratskeller. For dinner, I had Kasespatzle, a traditional German dish similar to our American Mac and cheese but less processed. I also had Flammkuchen, the German version of a pizza, which was amazing!!
It was nice to have a meal with all the German students because I felt like I got to talk to them outside of working on the project together. Everyone was so sweet, and I honestly regret not planning activities during my free time with them. After dinner, I hung out with everyone before heading back to the hotel. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! Until Next Time!
