Hi I’m Hailey Krawczyk and I’m a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh! I’m a marketing major with a french minor and intend to pursue an international business certificate as well. I’m also a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA) here at Pitt! With my area of study, I aim to work in an international marketing position while utilizing my french skills. Hopefully I will have more opportunities abroad, especially for work, where I can expand my French knowledge and language in the business world!
Outside of school, I consider myself a very active and sociable person. I love to take walks, go on runs, and recently I’ve been into pilates and yoga classes. One of my favorite things to do is sit outside with my friends, listen to music, and just hang out in general. I also LOVE traveling, especially to anywhere that has a beach. It was almost four years ago that I went to Europe for the last time but it feels like yesterday; I can’t wait to go back! When I’m not up and active, I’m usually binging a tv show or watching a comfort movie while crocheting or making jewelry.
The international program I chose is the Plus3 trip to The Netherlands. As soon as I was introduced to this program, I knew I had to do it. In Amsterdam, I hope to learn more about Dutch culture, food, land, and most importantly, business. I’m most excited to meet the local university staff and learn about business in the Netherlands and how the supply chain functions in comparison to the US. I also know that the Dutch business culture is somewhat different than in America in terms of formality and relationships, so I’m looking forward to talking to some professionals.
Ever since I was young, I’ve always wanted to study abroad. It was the first box on all of my bucket lists. Now that I have the opportunity to go abroad, especially to such an amazing city like Amsterdam, I cannot contain my excitement. I’m looking forward to meeting new people, walking new streets, eating new foods, and learning new things every single day. If I could go back in time, I would tell my younger self that her dreams are finally coming true. Amsterdam here I come!
