Γεια or Merhaba?

Hi all! My name is Matt Cohen and I am nearing the end of my freshmen year in the College of Business Administration at Pitt. I am a majoring in finance and accounting and plan to get a minor in econ and a certificate in business analytics. I was born on Long Island in New York, but grew up in Yardley, Pennsylvania. On campus, I am a currently a member in Panther Equity and spend much of my free time playing basketball at Trees Hall. When I graduate I am planning on going for my MBA and getting a job as a financial manager/advisor or investment banker.

My hobbies include playing/watching sports (go Giants, Knicks, and Mets), listening to music, and spending time at Jersey shore beaches. Back home, I’ve worked at a grocery store called McCaffrey’s as a cashier, stocker, and janitor for almost three years. My favorite artists right now are Bruno Mars, Tyler the Creator, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, and JID, and my favorite shows I’m currently watching are Ted Lasso and Money Heist. I recently travelled to Barcelona, Spain and Lisbon, Portugal (I’m 50% Portuguese) last summer with my family, and had a blast. My favorite parts of the trip were visiting the famous Camp Nou in Barcelona and taking day trips to the beautiful towns of Sintra and Cascais in Portugal. I would definitely recommend both cities to anyone interested!

The international program I am participating in is Plus3 in Cyprus. I have been interested in studying abroad for years, and was even accepted into my high school’s Spanish exchange program (unfortunately COVID ruined that). In studying abroad, I hope to gain insight into how businesses operate in different parts of the world to see if I would be interested in working overseas in the future. The Cyprus location also focuses on the importance of the supply chain in running a successful business, providing me with beneficial information for my future. Additionally, Cyprus is a beautiful island located in the Mediterranean, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime trip. Between the sightseeing, new experiences, and chances to further my education, I’m counting down the days until we take off for Cyprus!!
