Argentina and Me!

Hello everyone! I am Ashley Sukal. I am a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh. I am majoring in marketing and pursuing certificates in digital media, leadership and ethics, and sports management. I am a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA). I am also a part of the sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma in the Gamma Epsilon chapter here at Pitt. I am a student worker in the Ticket Office for Pitt Athletics. I plan to pursue a career in the sports industry. I would love to combine my love of sports with travel and find something abroad. I am open to looking into other career opportunities I see in the future that are outside of sports.

In my free time, I love to bake. I find any occasion to whip up something sweet, whether it be stress baking or a special occasion. You can find me looking for new recipes for my family to try. I love to spend time outside, so you will find me by the pool when it is nice out. When the weather keeps me inside, I love to binge-watch TV shows or comfort movies.

Argentina is the Plus3 Program I am attending. I heard about this program while on a Blue and Gold visit the summer before my sophomore year. Once I heard about it, I knew immediately that I had to do it. I love to travel and aimed to study abroad when I came to college. I thought this was a great program to go somewhere new while having the chance to learn how to be overseas before I go on my own. During this trip, I personally I want to experience a new culture and see a beautiful country. This is such a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I want to get every opportunity possible out of it. Experiencing a different culture would also be an academic experience that I also want to achieve. Academically I also want to learn about the topic of healthcare, which I don’t know much about. I think there is such personal and professional lessons that can be learned. On a professional level, I hope to learn how to run a hospital and where business practices are required or are overstepping medical discretion. I also hope to see business etiquette in Buenos Aires. Knowing how different countries/cultures do business is helpful if you get into a company that is located or does work internationally.
