Hi everyone! My name is Katherine Matlaga (or Katie, for short 🙂 ) and I am super excited to be traveling to Dublin, Ireland with PittBusiness Plus3! I am a third year studying Marketing and Business Information Systems, and serve on the executive board for Pitt’s chapter of the American Marketing Association!
Outside of classes, I work part time at an advertising agency and hope to continue this route after graduation. I take pride in my time management skills and organization in order to maintain all of these wonderful opportunities at once!
When not working or studying, I enjoy exploring Pittsburgh, finding new coffee places, and hanging out with friends. I hope to have plenty of time to explore on my trip to Ireland!
I chose this program because I had always wanted to visit Western Europe, specifically the UK & Ireland, but since the pandemic, wasn’t able to my first year. I also wanted to pick a program where I could get a glimpse of the international experience, without being away for a full semester, and Plus3 was the perfect fit for me!
While on this program, I hope to gain a valuable understanding of the primary differences between domestic and international business operations and etiquette. I’ve always found the details of how interactions occur in different countries to be so fascinating. And of course, I am extremely excited to try new dishes and see the gorgeous cliff sides, and be completely engrossed in the local culture.
