Hallo von Amerika!

Hallo Alle! My name is Isabella Catanese and I’m a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh’s College of Business Administration (CBA). I plan on double majoring in Finance and Data Analytics and minoring in German. I’m currently a member of Smart Women’s Security (SWS) and the League of Emerging Analytics Professionals (LEAP). I also work part-time as a student tour guide for the Cathedral of Learning’s Nationality Rooms, and as a member of the student tour guide organization Quo Vadis. I love traveling and learning about new languages and cultures, along with new things in general. In my free time, often I am either reading, listening to music, or playing video games. I am so excited to be traveling to Augsburg, Germany with PittBusiness’s Plus3 program!

While I am already fluent in German, I know next to nothing about the auto industry, making the Plus3 Germany program a perfect fit for me! While I already have been to Germany before, not only have I not been to Augsburg, but I have never had the opportunity to engage with the local culture professionally. My priority in participating in this program is to expand my cultural understanding of Germany, both professionally and causally. Since I know that my future career involves me working abroad, gaining this earlier, while creating real connections, will be essential to my future success.

I’m looking forward to exploring Augsburg, as I have not been there before. I’m also looking forward to revisiting some of Germany’s most iconic spots, such as Schloss Neuschwanstein, which is a castle built in the shape of a swan (it also translates to “Castle New swan stone”)! I also can’t wait to meet the Augsburg students!

Bis später!

Isabella Catanese
