Hi everyone!

My name is Marissa D’Ambrosio and I am a freshman business student at Pitt. I am majoring in marketing with a certificate in conceptual foundations of medicine. I am from a small town outside of Philadelphia. I grew up spending my summers in Ocean City, New Jersey and really love spending time with family and friends. I love to read, do yoga, grab coffee, explore a new city, or try new foods. At school, I am involved in Kappa Delta, a social sorority, work as a Peer Educator in the office of Financial Aid, and serve as the Director of Marketing and Event Planning for Corporate Connections at Pitt Business.

This month I will have the pleasure to study abroad in Costa Rica! It is truly such a wonderful experience and I am so lucky to be able to take my education to a new country. There is so much value in exploring and learning about new cultures and I am so ready to grow as a person!

I am looking forward to trying new foods, seeing new things in nature, and grow connections. I chose Costa Rica because it is a very developed country with a lot to offer me and I think there is a lot to learn especially about the production of coffee and bananas! I am also eager to build professionalism with other countries. As a future business professional I think it is extremely important to create global connections. The education I gain abroad will be able to be applied when I come back to my life in Pittsburgh and even in the future!

Time is moving fast and May 6th is approaching! I know the 2 weeks will fly by and I am ready to take full advantage of it!!
