Arriving In Argentina

We just arrived in Buenos Aries this morning and I couldn’t be more excited for the next two weeks! The flight here was about 13 hours in total and although it was very long it was very fun to be surrounded by all of my friends. Going through customs was different for me but landing here was such a surreal experience. My first impressions of Argentina are really good. It is very different here, but I cannot wait to learn more and explore the city. On the way to our hotel we saw horses and cows on the sides of the road with no fences around them. We then checked into our hotel this morning and then did a little exploring. The streets of Argentina are so full of life and shops and restaurants on every corner. We went to a bakery and got chocolate truffles and then went to dinner. I expected the streets to be very busy and they are. What I want to explore more is the restaurants and go and see the ocean! We also met with IES today and had a barbecue on the balcony that overlooked the city. Everyone here has been very welcoming and it has exceeded my expectations. I’ve also noticed some different things here. The stoplights here turn yellow before they turn green. The people also walk around with their dogs off of their leashes. Another thing that is very different is the cars. All of the vehicles here are fairly small and you only see a handful of SUV’s and/or trucks. For my next two weeks I really want to enjoy every moment and learn as much as I can. I want to be as involved in the culture as possible. I’m very excited to learn more about nursing and how the healthcare system differs here compared to in the United States. We have a busy two weeks and I just know it’s going to be the most amazing time. I can’t wait to keep updating you all!
