After two days of flying and approximately 1.5 hours of sleep, I finally arrived in Augsburg, Germany. Today has to be one of the most unique experiences of my life. I have never been outside the U.S. before, and picking Germany was a good choice for my first time. When I landed in Munich from the airport, the air felt so much nicer than Pittsburgh’s. The skies were so blue, the grass so green, and my seasonal allergies were relieved. Our group took an hour bus ride from Munich to Augsburg and we all glued our eyes to the windows. Everything was so new and refreshing and the farms in Germany seemed endless. When we arrived in Augsburg, we visited lots interesting locations such as the town hall, and the Fuggerei lofts. My favorite location by far has to be the Augsburg Cathedral. The different Roman and Gothic architecture, along with its historical background was very intriguing to me and can’t wait to tour the inside of it tomorrow. Foods and drinks that I tried today included Spezi which basically tasted like orange coke, a ham sandwich with the best bun I have ever had and pork schnitzel which made me reminisce about my mom’s porkchops that she sometimes cooked for me for dinner. Overall dining experience today was an 8/10. Today as a whole was such a crazy and unique experience, because of how new everything seemed and almost overwhelming at times. I think I can get used to living life in Germany for the next two weeks. Auf wiedersehen!
