Today was a very exciting day of many new firsts, such as my first time on an airplane and my first time ever leaving the United States.
Our flight landed on 5/7/2023 at 7 in the morning. Once landed and luggage was claimed, it was time to take the bus to Augsburg. Along the way to the trip there was a lot of natural greenery that was around. I was expecting this since I heard from people that Germany had very similar climate and nature to Pennsylvania.

However, all of my expectations were blown away when we reached the city. I know that Germany was a pretty historic place and in fact I was expecting old architecture, but never would I have guess how beautiful everything looked. Part of the reason why I wanted to go to Germany was the deep history of Germany and how the many different political changes happened to Germany in the past couple of decades. However, the beauty of the historical buildings that some (not all because a lot has been rebuilt during WW2 due to air bombings) have been around for thousands of years.

It is so cool and amazing to walk around and see a town that is so historically rich and old. It’s so amazing that I even though I knew what to expect, I was still blown away. From the brick roads and the train cars going around the city and despite this being a city, not a single skyscraper is in this city, unlike almost all United States cities.
Last, we had lunch with students from the University of Augsburg at a restaurant called Zeughaus. This was the only thing that I could predict before I came to Augsburg and that was the food was gonna be so delicious.
I am looking forward to working with the students from the University of Augsburg and being able to explore more of Augsburg and more of Germany!
