We made it! After such a long day of traveling we reached Larnaca’s airport. When we got off the plane we got our bags relatively quickly and were picked up by Christina from Global semesters and taken to our hotel. This place is gorgeous by the way! It has three floors and a rooftop pool and balcony. It is also in a great location and not far from the water.
After a quick shower and a quick freshen up, we headed out for a walk to explore our area. We walked through old town and to the marina. The marina has lots of restaurants and lots and lots of boats. These boats range from sailboats to mega yachts. The marina had areas for kids to run around and even a paradox museum.
With the quick tour concluding we were given free time to look around and explore the Limmasol area. The group divided up and went to different restaurants. The group I was in went to a restaurant named “Castellos.” I ordered pork chops. They were delicious! We also got to experience the wild cats of Cyprus as they would approach you when eating and try and secure a bite of what you’re eating. They may or may not have secured a little nibble, and decided to sit by our table with us.
To end of the night, I took a stroll with my roommate Andreas around the old town square to check out so of the local spots and to fully digest the culture of Cyprus. We stoped at a place in the square that had pool tables and live sports on. By the look of it, it looked like a place for younger teenagers to hang around and spend time together. Overall this was a great day and an amazing first day in Cyprus.
