5/8: Puppetry in Prague

Today was a long, but very fun day! We started off with breakfast in the hotel, which was very amazing since there were so many different types of food and drinks to enjoy. Next, we went on a walking tour of Prague with Jana, who showed us around the Charles bridge and the other side of the river. There was so much cool architecture to see, and so many cute shops. We went into a puppet store and saw the marionettes, and then got lunch. Afterwards, I went to the communist museum with some people, and then spent some time relaxing on a rooftop bar, before heading to dinner.

There have definitely been some peaks of the trip so far. I would say a peak for me is seeing some of the architecture in the city. Architecture was not something that I focused much on before the trip, but seeing it in person has me so impressed. Another peak was getting to know some of the people in the program a little better, and growing closer with some new friends. I have really enjoyed just exploring the city in my free time and getting to see both the big and the small things that are around. One of my favorite sights to see so far has been the garden that we went to today.

However, with every peak comes a pit. I would say the biggest pit for me so far has been jetlag, and just being tired all the time. I was up with the sun this morning, so even though I should be better adjusted by now, I am still struggling a little bit. Another (unexpected) pit for me has apparently been holding on in the trams. I thought I would be fine, but I am not tall enough to hold onto the top, so I keep falling onto people! However, the tram rides are short and we always arrive to cool destination afterwards, so it is totally worth it!

So far, the peaks definitely outweigh the pits. I am looking forward to visiting Charles University tomorrow, and having our first company visit of the trip!
