Day 2 flew by so fast! After getting decent but not spectacular sleep last night, I was ready to start the day fresh. Breakfast included a bunch of foods I did not like, but the Croissants were better than I expected. We took the public transport to the Universitat Augsburg to talk about the Plus3 program and give presentations on the companies we will be visiting later: Hobr–something, Grob, Faurecia, and Audi. We had lunch at a buffet-style cafeteria, but it was not all-you-can-eat, which is confusing coming from a place where the cafeterias are all-you-can-eat.
Next, we did a scavenger hunt in Augsburg. The scavenger hunt part was actually very boring and we just ran through what we needed to d. The places that we went to during the scavenger hunt was the cool part. We entered several enormous churches–that were built between 500 and 900 years ago! I’ve never been in a building quite as ornate and grand as these churches, especially impressive considering how old they are. They are filled with arches, artwork, and pipe organs. I saw the entrance to the grave of Jacob Fugger (who is from Augsburg), one of the richest people in history.
After that, we had time to shop at the supermarket. It paled in comparison to American supermarkets, it felt more like a medium-sized shop. Target has a greater variety of foods. There wasn’t much there that I liked, and unfortunately, the breads were out of stock and the bagels seemingly had nuts in them.
