Traveling to get to Prague came with its challenges; however, the reward of arriving at such a culturally rich city makes it worthwhile. Personally, I always struggle with getting enough rests on long, international flights. I tried to take advantage of the almost seven-hour flight to London but could not manage to fall asleep. As a result, I did not have any rest during the day of travel leading up to our first fun-filled day in Prague. While having little to no rest made it a little harder to stay awake at the end of our first day, I still had an overall incredible day. Despite the six-hour time difference between Pittsburgh and Prague, I did not have a difficult time adjusting. I was able to get almost a full night’s rest after travelling.
Despite the valleys of long travel days, seeing a glimpse of the beauty of Prague today is a peak. Today, we had a walking tour that featured the Prague castle, Jewish quarters, Museum of Communism, and the Charles Bridge. I learned about the rich history of Prague while taking in picturesque views. Overall, losing a day of sleep is worth the final destination.
