Today we meet with Ellie Doyle of TalentHub. She discussed with us topics such as personal brand, the future workplace and core competencies for interviewing. I learned about the growing gig economy and neurodiversity in the workplace. After her discussion of traits I believe I hold core competencies of resilience and work ethic. These, at the core, are very hard to teach thus making them valuable to myself and a company. I am very good at overcoming hardship and my resilience can be valuable to a company in the future. This, mixed with my ability to work hard at any task no matter the type, should be reflected when presenting my personal brand. I believe that my extensive experience in customer service, child care, and sports will exemplify my core competencies. I am very grateful for Ellie’s wise words!
My favorite part of today was visiting Croke Park!! There were huge themes of amateurism and community. The sports of gaelic and hurling are played around the passion for sport and I appreciate this as in America we have drifted away from this outlook. I also enjoyed learning about the history of the sport and the importance the games hold in the lives of many Irish. One part of the tour that gave me chills was the GAA’s ability to represent women in sport. I am a woman in sport and was truly inspired but how th country looks up to female athletes and sets them at the same level as men. Overall, it did not dissapoint!
