One difference that I had anticipated prior to coming and has been true throughout my stay so far is the higher percentage of smokers. It is far more common here and there are ash trays everywhere you go to accommodate for this. I had also heard that you will have to pay for water at restaurants and they do not provide ice when ordering drinks which has held true.
There are many streets here that see much more foot traffic than vehicles. We frequently treat some of the smaller or less traveled streets like they are sidewalks. The cars are very understanding of this behavior. They will stop and wait for you to get out of the way when you need time and never rush or honk at you.
I can not say I am sure the significance of it but in our hotel and many other buildings there have been two layers of windows. I suppose this may provide better insulation, but could not think of other reasoning as to the why they are designed this way.
In general, food and drinks have been cheaper than I believe they typically are back home. This was particularly surprising to me since we are in the biggest city in Czech Republic. Beer and wine specifically are noticeably cheaper. Additionally, there are no open carry laws so you will often see people walking the streets or drinking in parks.
