At a Ranch with No Ranch

I am back once again to share about times in Argentina. Today was different in that we left traditional lectures behind and had a fun day. It was filled with cultural activities, food, and a workout free of charge.

We started at the famous Roman Catholic church in Lujan, Buenos Aries. it took roughly an hour for the van to get there. it was worth the drive. The church was magnificent. There was stained glass in every corner, a high ceiling, and up and down stairs. There was a mass occurring inside. I didn’t know what they were saying, but they seemed unified. In the room on the sides were where confessions were taking place for hundreds and hundreds of people. I didn’t realize how vital the catholic religion is in Argentina until I saw it in person.

Next stop was Rodizio Estnacia ranch. It was fantastic to see the more western areas of Argentina. It reminded me of western Pennsylvania, where I live. I thought I would be so bored when I stepped out and looked around. However, they had many activities to do there. A group of us went to ride bikes around the ranch to work off all the delicious meat they fed us. It was a not-stop conveyor blet endlessly. the ride was fun. It reminds me of being a kid. Everyone was laughing and having a good time. Once, get a glass of ice-cold water to refresh after the workout. The same group head over for some archery. Let’s say I’m not good at it. I did not hit the target once. But on the other hand, Tori almost hit the center on the first try. It may be that I don’t have the upper body strength for it.

To have the whole ranch experience, we had to go to the barn to see some animals. There were babies, cows, chickens, sheep, and unknown birds ( I could not identify. And sheep. What caught my eye was the big pig across from the barn. It was the most giant pig I had ever seen in my entire life. He seemed so happy he was wagging his tail and making little noises. There was a stick nearby, so Alexa started to scratch him with it, and let me say he loved every minute of it. I am still determining what they are feeding the big, but it has to be a lot.

Side note: I can’t eat meat again after all I ate today!

As you know, Mother’s Day is coming up, so I would like to dedicate a thank you to her. My mother and I have a very complex relationship. Sometimes we fight and argue, but I will always love her. She gives a lot to everyone who needs it, even people who would do the same for her. I admire that about her. We are different in that way. When I was younger, she ensured I had everything I needed and wanted. She would always figure out a way for me to be happy even if we did not have the financial need. Being a single mom is hard, but she did it. We don’t always agree, but I love you, Mom. Have a great Mother’s Day will be Home soon!
