St. Gabby’s Day

Today, when we were speaking with Dr. Darren in the Docklands, he shared his belief that the Irish often do not follow exact directions and do not match their work to the syllabus. Therefore, I’m going to follow the lead of the Irish and write about my lovely day instead.

After the site visit this morning, a few of us walked over to the Temple Bar area to have lunch at The Oliver St. John Gogarty! They had a man and a woman both playing the guitar and singing in the front of the pub and it was very entertaining. We did some shopping around the Temple Bar area and found some fun vintage shops. Each shop had its own distinct decoration that matched with the store products. We strolled down George’s Street Arcade where we stopped at local vendors. It was very interesting seeing all of the small businesses and hearing different accents.

We ventured down the road to St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Park. The weather was absolutely stunning so we decided to sit in the grass and soak in the sun. However, when we went inside of the cathedral we found out that it was unfortunately closed for the day. We went hunting for four leaf clovers, pet some dogs, and went to a pub to end the day.
