Today we went to EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, two different tour guides told us to go so I had high expectations and this museum exceeded them! We got a ‘passport’ and we were able to stamp at every room, I liked that because it motivated me to pay attention to get the stamp. It was very organized and interactive with a lot of videos and touch screens so you really can customize your experience and pick and choose what you want to read.
My favorite exhibit was the music exhibit, I enjoyed seeing the different instruments as well and hearing songs and watching Irish step dancing videos. They even had guides on how to Irish dance, I didn’t try it out but maybe next time. Another really nice part was the room called ‘Irish never leaves you’ which plays videos about immigration and how people bring Irish culture outside of Ireland. My favorite quote from the show was ‘migration changes but the desire for connection stays the same.’ The show was in a room that looked like an airplane and the lights changed with the video, I seriously sat in there for 20 minutes and watched the same show maybe 5 times.
The tours were great but seeing the information and being able to learn at your own pace was really helpful in terms of digesting information. Overall, this museum is a must for anyone traveling Ireland.
After the museum, Bella and I went to this place called POG and it was amazing. I got a Mexican bowl and she got a breakfast sandwich and we split protein pancakes which were amazing! We will for sure be going back before we leave. Other than the museum and lunch, we had a really chill day and relaxed because tomorrow we are going to the Cliffs of Moher!! I am so so excited!
