Today was more of a chill day after the busy days we’ve been having. We started the morning with a trip back to the Docklands, but this time we went to a museum instead – the EPIC Museum. I loved the museum and the interactive activities that they had. I felt like a kid in the Ben Franklin Museum. They gave us something that looked like a passport and after every exhibit we camped that section like Customs does when you enter a country. There was one tunnel that had speakers with voices of people casually talking about Ireland. It was so cool walking through that tunnel because you felt more immersed in exhibits. There was so much that I learned. for instance, I didn’t know how intense it was. There was a story about how mothers and child traveling to a new country didn’t live too long because of the conditions. On a happier note though, I was surprised by all the connections to the U.S. There was an Irish architect who develop the plans for the White House in Washington, DC. My favorite part of the museum was the last exhibit, Connection. There was an immersive video where it felt like you were on the boat with the immigrant traveling to the U.S. and a plane with someone traveling to Ireland. It felt like I was there too. It was emotional because it was about connection and how everyone needs to stay connected and a century ago it took 6 weeks to hear from people which made moving somewhere hard. Now, everyone is just a phone call away and you can see them through the phone with FaceTime.
On our way back home, we stopped by this donut shop called Rolling Donuts. I got an apple crisp and strawberry cheesecake donut. I was so excited to taste test them, I was debating eating one on the walk to see if they are as good as Duck Donuts. My review: 10/10
Overall, it was a good and relaxing day! It’s up early tomorrow for a trip to the Cliffs! Good night and see you tomorrow 😊
