The food here has been super cool to try. However, I am already tired of Czech food and ready to get back to burgers and fries. The bread “dumplings” are interesting, to say the least, and leave me craving a real dumpling each time I see it on the menu. I have really enjoyed trying different Czech cuisine and would have to say my favorite food has been meat that comes with a flavorful sauce. There is nothing to describe this type of sauce besides thick, soupy, and better than any sauce I’ve had back home. I have been venturing out with my food choices and even got to try pork knee and knuckle, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. While it isn’t specifically a food, the raspberry lemonade is by far my favorite thing I’ve tried on this trip. Every restaurant has its own take on this homemade drink and I have loved every single one I’ve gotten so far. I will definitely miss the raspberry lemonade more than the Czech food itself, but I have loved getting to try it all! We painted our own souvenir mugs and plates and I made my plate raspberry lemonade themed to remember this magical beverage.
Today we went on a day trip to Kutna Hora. This town is very unique and its main tourist destination is a church decorated with bones from 40,000 people. This was a creepy yet fascinating destination. I will not be returning anytime soon but am glad I got to see this strange piece of history. A block away from the bone church stood a Lego store that had a cafe where you could sit with Lego skeletons. This was definitely not the place for me, but would for sure be an experience.
