Today was probably my favorite day of the whole trip so far! We were up early today and got on a true VIP bus with led lights and practically a party bus with four tables in a row and a table in the middle which made for a good napping area for the ride up. Our first stop was a gas station dedicated to Barack Obama with statues and everything. The clerk was also the nicest person. We drove further to the Cliffs of Moher. It was a little hike up to the cliff, but it was worth it. The views were breath taking and there was a lighthouse in that area too. We were only there for an hour but it felt like I could spend all day there. After we walked down, we walked into small shops by the side of the museum which had really cute jewelry and the softest lamb stuff animal I ever felt.
We hopped back on the bus to Galway just like the Ed Sheeran song which I did listen to going into the town. I could spend hours there. There was so many cool stores I wanted to explore, but not enough time. We went to this cute little restaurant and the service was ok. I finally got a burger and it wa pretty good! The vibes were very quiet and calming. It’s such a different town compared to Dublin. It gives summer beach town vibes there.
The bus back to Dublin consisted of multiple card games as well. I am not th best player, so please don’t ask me how many times/if I won lol.
Throughout the trip, we done a lot of tourist activities. Tourism has a big impact on Ireland in terms of business and culture. Everywhere that we went there have been businesses designed for tourist. For example, when we went to Galway today we walked by a lot of souvenir shops and the stores had pictures of the area in shops not designed as a souvenir shop. There are stores and restaurants that thrive in these areas because they are important landmarks where a lot of people go to, so they use that to their benefit. From a cultural perspective, they share their history and traditions with more people from all around. From bus drivers, tour guides, even servers, told us some part of history or tradition of Ireland. For example, I can’t even count how many people told us about their sports because it’s such a huge impact on the culture. It’s like Ireland’s version of football. They are all so happy to share their favorite restaurants, pubs, and places to go.
If I were to create a sales pitch for Ireland, I would do a montage of the different landmarks in different parts of the country and highlight the people as well. The landmarks are incredible to see in person and you can only see some of these things here. However, the people are so nice and make it a fun place to be in.
I can’t believe we only have a few days left, it’s going by so fast! I’m excited to see the Microsoft campus tomorrow!
