Today was mostly spent at Kunsthalle Prague, a new art space. We spent the early afternoon conversing with the lead architecture and the director about the conversion of the building and the mission of the space. It was really informative and interesting. I loved hearing from two successful women about their efforts to bridge art, technology, and other media. I doubt any company tour will be more enjoyable than this one for me.
Following a tour of the gallery space, we socialized with Pitt alumni which was a truly insightful experience. It was not only valuable to hear about the exciting career paths of alum but also converse about our shared experiences and values as Pitt students. I think I would enjoy working as an engineer abroad as it would allow me to impart change on an international level.
After the event, a few of us roamed the castle garden and visited the golden lane. This was really peaceful and magical as Jana had said it would be, she never misleads us. I would regard this as a highlight of the trip for me as we really did have the whole place to ourselves. We also passed house 22 on the golden lane, which is where Kafka worked. This was neat to see because I have been reading many of his works leading up to the trip. We concluded the evening sitting across the river from the theatre show, listening to the sound of music that was carried across the water.
