German breakfast and Forvia

View from breakfast

We started the morning off with driving through the country side of Germany to Baindlkirch so we could grab some breakfast. It was an easy, short bus ride but of course everyone fell asleep…again. Here authentic sausages were being served. Personally I can not eat sausages so I ate a couple pieces of fruit off of a cheese board. To be completely honest the restaurant reeked of sausage so some of us had to step outside for some fresh air haha. Everyone who did eat them said they were delicious, so definitely try them!

After breakfast we got to go back to the hotel to take a quick nap before turning right back around to go on the tram towards Forvia for our company visit. The tram did not take too long and once we got in we started with a tour around the company, again we had to put on the goofy shoes and lab coats and in addition: goggles. We were allowed to take pictures on the tour but everything we saw was really cool. At one point I got to join in an assembly line and basically put parts on a board in a puzzle like manner. This was such a cool opportunity and I felt lucky to be granted with it. Once the tour was over we had another presentation that focused on the companies future growth and work with hydrogen fueled cells. Personally, I am not much of a science person. But while they were presenting I got super into it. I learned that with these cells the company will be able to reduce the amount of pollution that is getting into the air.

This was our third company visit. Throughout the journey with each company visit we realized that it started with small products to bigger and eventually tomorrow being the full assembly of a car.

Forvia

After we left a couple of us went to this place called “Rice Bar”, it was a very pretty and the food was AMAZING! It also was inexpensive. I will definitely be going back!
