Second Day Trip

Today, we went on our second day trip to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway. It was a bright and early wake up where we had to meet at the lobby at 7:15 and be on the bus at 7:30 to depart on our very own private party bus. The drive was super long and dreadful to the cliffs but it was totally worth the wait. The cliffs were nothing that I have seen before and the views were just amazing and magnificent. After we left the cliffs, it was another two hour drive to Galway, a nice little town on the rural side of Ireland, opposite of Dublin where we normally stay. We got food at Dale Bar and I ordered a Traditional Irish Beef Stew which was pretty good and something I would recommend. Overall, this day trip was successful and a super fun experience.

For the past week, I have been participating in lots of tourist activities such as both of these day trips where we got to see some of Ireland’s most popular attractions. Tourism is very important to any country because it can help bolster the economy and bring in a new stream of cash flow. It helps promotes the culture and economy because popular and unique attractions will bring in tourists from all over the world just to visit and stay. The more and more visitors that come to Ireland or any country to see the popular attractions the more business these tourist sites would get as well as the nearby hotels and restaurants would also gain tons of traction and increased foot traffic.

From a cultural perspective, throughout all of the tours and my time so far staying in Dublin, I have been able to see how the Irish interact with each other and see the overall culture. It is a different way of living compared to America and is is pretty evident in the way they speak, the way they drive, their mannerism, etc.

If I were in charge on making a sales pitch for Ireland, I would specifically highlight Kilkenny and the Cliffs of Moher as they were my two favorite places. I really liked the historical aspects of Kilkenny such as the tower and the cathedral as well was the small little town with a bunch of boutiques and restaurants. The Cliffs of Moher is someplace that you have to go to while you are in Ireland as you won’t be able to see nothing like it anywhere else.
