Good times and long bus rides, living out my Game of Thrones fantasies

Prague day 8!!! And we are off again on another day trip, this time, we are headed over to Cesky Krumlov. This trip took about 2.5 hours by bus, so it was a great time to take a little nap as well as catch up on some of the shows I haven’t been watching recently. Once we arrived in Cesky Krumlov, I immediately felt like I was looking as something out of a Game of Thrones scene. All of the bridges/castles and architecture made me feel like I was watching my favorite show so I really enjoyed this part of the trip.

After arriving we took a brief tour around the small city to get a lay of the land as well as look at some of the similarities and differences to Prague. Many of the buildings gave the same sort of vibe, however, where Prague gives big city energy, this definitely felt like a small little mountain town. We got to see amazing views of the entire city and looking over the edge only filled me with a small bit of fear. After our own little tour we took a detour over to the castle, where we got to see actual bears living in the old moat!! It was common for the royals in older times to keep wild animals as a form of entertainment, and I can say it was definitely interesting to peak over the railing and see two large bears. The tour of the actual castle came next and while it was neat to see all the old furniture and architecture, I am not the most interested in this kind of history so it was only slightly difficult to pay attention.

We proceeded to grab lunch in the absolute cutest local place and I had AMAZING duck. This trip has definitely brought back my love for this food and I can only hope I can find something just as good back home. Not only was the food great, but the lemonade was also just delicious. I wish I could find lemonade made like this at home and it will definitely be missed.

After lunch we took a lovely detour to frolic in the gorgeous gardens. Evan and I re-enacted the titanic scene in the rain, and I also got to have my Game of Thrones moment by walking ominously through the hedges. We ended the night with another much needed nap on the bus and a visit to our favorite (and cheap) pizza/pasta restaurant.

I had an amazing day and I cannot wait for the rest of the week

Until tomorrow

Emma
