Day 11: Final Presentations

Because we had nothing planned until 2:00 pm today, I got to sleep in a little and rest up from all the long days we have had prior. Once I was awake, I headed down to get breakfast before getting ready to head over to the University to practice for our final presentations.

I met with the American students in my group and made our way over to the University to eat some lunch at the Mensa before meeting with the German students. For lunch I had a really yummy pasta with a Bolognese sauce along with some crispy french fries. This was way better than any meal I’ve had at the Eatery in Pittsburgh. It seems like Pitt needs to step up their food game!

After eating, we walked over to the business building and found a classroom to practice our presentation. We ran through it once which took us about 30 minutes, which is exactly where we wanted our time. However, it was good we did practice because there were many things we needed to tweak before presenting for real.

Once 2 o’clock rolled around, we met with everyone else and started our presentations. My group was the second one to go which was nice because we got the nerves out a little earlier than others. All in all, I think our presentation went really well and I was super proud of the work everyone in my group accomplished. I was especially impressed by how good the German students were when it came to presenting considering they were speaking in their second language. I couldn’t imagine having to present like that in another language, it was hard enough doing it in my first.

It was super relieving once the presentations were over and as a celebration a couple of us went and got some gelato at this place that everyone was taking about. It was safe to say it was worth going and I wish I went earlier.

After gelato, we walked over to our final dinner as a group with both the American and German students. Of course to close it off, I had to get Germany’s famous schnitzel which I have been eating all trip.

This was such an amazing dinner as it gave us all the opportunity to say goodbye to all the Germans and come together as a group for the last time. It made me realize all the amazing things we accomplished the past two weeks.
