Day 12-Salzburg

It was our last day in Germany and we were given a free day today. Most of the group, including myself, agreed to go to Salzburg, Austria. This is the second country I have been to outside the United States.

When we arrived there via train, we toured the city for a little bit, examining interesting locations such as the dwarf gardens. The main point of interest for us however was the Hohensalzburg Fortress. This essentially looked like a castle and was settled on top of a mountain. The best part is that it had a 360 degrees view of the entire city and the Alps. The place was beautiful and I don’t regret spending my 6 euros to ride that gondola. I would say it was much better than the other castle because it was much bigger and was not as restrictive. Plus this has a lot more history than Ludwig’s castle.

I had the standard breakfast at the hotel. I had a mediocre doner kebab in a flatbread for lunch, and I had salami pizza at a local Italian restaurant, which was excellent. The overall dining rating for today was 8/10.

This being my last blog for Plus3 Germany, I have to say the first time being outside the country was a positive one. I had lots of fun visiting the restaurants and seeing the cool locations around southern Germany, such as the Alps and Munich. I would be excited if I got the chance to go to Germany again, and I had a fun time documenting them in these blogs. With that being said I must say auf wiedersehen Deutschland!
