Don’t Cry for Me Argentina🄺

Well it is day 12 in Buenos Aires! I am sad to state that I leave tomorrow. Today we gave our presentation (yes we did also learn on this trip).

Our presentation went great. My group did so well on explaining the public sector of the Argentina healthcare system. My friends in other groups did amazing too. The other groups were on the private sector, the obras sociale (unions), and the Ministry of Health. A thank you to Gabriel Novick for setting up great visits for us to learn about how the complicated healthcare system works here in Argentina. I didn’t realized how much I learned until I sat down to do my presentation. I also learned so much about the culture thanks to many of our cultural visits we had. The places we visited such beautiful place. Not only were they beautiful to the eye but they had beautiful stories. My favorite was the Recoleta Cemetery.

Now let’s talk about the fun part of the trip! I made so many great friends who I love and made my time here even better. Dinner and night time activities were so much fun. Shout out to Bar Calixto for making us feel at home and treating us so nice even with a language barrier. We had so many fun movie nights watching some of our favorites such as The Wrong Missy and Pitch Perfect. Having steak for dinner almost every night is something i’m going to miss, but I think I’ll miss the empanadas the most (gluten-free ones of course). I made memories that will definitely last me a lifetime. I’m so excited to go home though knowing me and my new friends will make plans to see each other, even if one of us doesn’t live in the States. As I said to the incoming freshmen on the webinar today, I didn’t think I would find friends on this trip, let alone the amazing ones I did, so I can say I will leave this trip learning one thing for sure. You will find something when you least expect it. That is why the picture of me, Isabella, Miranda, and Sarah on the plane will always be my favorite. Who knew the girls I sat by on the plane would be the friends I feel like I’ve known a lifetime. Ciao Buenos Aires! You have brought me knowledge, friendship, and memories. I feel like the only proper way to end this is with a well deserved H2P šŸ’™šŸ’›
