We started our day with a 3 hour bus ride to the glass factory. However, due to a flat tire, we got there a bit late. We were able to stop in the museum and grab a beer to go, but had to skip the glass factory tour due to time restraints.
We hopped back on the bus and headed to our tour at Škoda. Škoda is a major European car manufacturer and, luckily, we were able to tour their facilities. We signed a confidentiality contact, so I’m not really sure how much I can say! It was so cool to see the massive production warehouses and the way the company relies on robotic machinery for most of their manufacturing. I don’t think I would want to work there, though, since the job seems quite repetitive.
After the tour, we ate lunch at Škoda. I had a beef broth soup and goulash (again)! Next, we toured the museum at Škoda. We learned about the history of the company and how they started by created bikes! We also saw some of their race cars, which was really cool.
Next, we toured their motorsport facility where I learned about rally 2 racing. I had never known about this type of racing, and it was amazing to see where and how they design these special cars.
We headed back to the city and had a quick dinner at our favorite pizza place. We ended the evening with a ghost tour! This was my favorite part of the day and one of my favorite parts of the trip. We heard so many spooky stories and legends, and our tour guide was a great story teller!
I can’t believe the trip is almost over and I’m so sad to leave this city.
