Prague day 10!!! Wow I can’t believe it’s actually been this long, it feels like we have simultaneously been here for 2 days and 2 months. Today was quite the interesting day. With the earliest wake-up call yet at 6 am, the day was bound to have some twists and turns. After squishing into a much smaller bus than normal, we were on our way to the glass factory about 3 hours away from our hotel. Sadly along the way we got a flat tired and everything kind of went off from there. Thankfully we were able to get it fixed, but this left almost no time at the glass factory, so we just had to cut our loses in order to make it to skoda on time.
After this the day did get better! Lots of driving back and forth but we ended up making it to skoda for our factory tour! I absolutely love looking at different facilities of companies like skoda, as it is so cool to see how they mix automation with people in order to have an efficient line. Lunch was lovely at a little cafe in the building, and then we got another tour of some automobiles, but this time all skoda!!! Once again, I cannot say cars are interesting to me, but I did love looking at the progression and where they are at today. After that, we headed over to skoda’s motorsports part of their campus, where we got to experience a whole different side of the company!! Comparing this facility where they specifically specialize in motorsports cars versus the facility where they are producing everyday cars was crazy, as the motorsports one was soo clean and almost no automation in sight!!
After a very quick drive back to our hotel, we sprinted to catch a bite at our absolute favorite dinner place we found (this was our fourth time going) we ended up in old town square afterwards for a ghost tour! I had done a ghost tour in Savannah, Georgia before which was really fun, so I was definitely looking forward to this. Our tour guide ended up being from the States too which was so neat, hearing about how he works in Prague both as a write and a ghost tour guide. I loved hearing all the spooky stories and the lore that surrounds old town, as with a town this old there is bound to be a ghost here or there.
Early to bed for everyone tonight as most of us aren’t feeling the greatest, but still so excited for the last day tomorrow!!
Until tomorrow,
Emma
