Reflection Post

Plus 3 Germany was everything I wanted it to be and more. I truly learned a lot on this trip. I came away with so much knowledge relating to the automotive industry that I would never have learned without this trip. This knowledge has led me to become even more interested in cars and now I want to get an EV for my next car. On top of all the knowledge I gained about the automotive industry I gained a lot of relevant knowledge to business overall. We interacted with people whose first language isn’t English and overcame this language barrier and put together a presentation with them. On top of this we made personal connections with these students, some of which I plan to stay in contact with.

My favorite part of the trip was these connections with the German students. Learning about a foreign culture firsthand from someone who has lived their entire life in that culture was an unforgettable experience. I truly will never forget all that I learned by just simply having a conversation about our everyday lives and I feel this is the best way to learn about a different culture. I also made friends with Pittsburgh students I likely would have never met otherwise. I’m very glad this happened as now I have met new people that I’m excited to spend more time back at Pitt.

Overall, this trip was everything I wanted it to be and more. I really did learn way more than I ever could have imagined, and it is without a doubt my favorite class I have ever taken. The memories and friendships I made on this trip will likely last me a lifetime and I’m so glad I had this experience.
