Personal Introduction

My name is Jacob Ball and I am a third-year student at Pitt studying Finance, Marketing, and Economics. I was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area and have loved being here my whole life. Currently, I am working as an Investment Analyst Intern at a venture capital firm out of San Francisco, California and this past summer I was a Sales and Consulting Intern at Arthur J Gallagher & Co., a global insurance risk and consulting firm. At Pitt, I am apart of the Club Golf Team and Pittsburgh Student Venture Capital.

Plus3 Germany Summer 2024

I chose the Plus3 Germany program because it will allow me to travel outside the country for the first time and experience a new, contrasting culture while gaining professional exposure. I would be able to step outside my comfort zone and experience an enriching educational program that will give me a glimpse into the automobile and manufacturing industries.

Along with that, I look forward to the opportunity of visiting some of Augsburg’s famous buildings and museums such as the Augsburg Rathaus and the Neuschwanstein Castle. I am excited for the company tours, Q&A sessions with executives, and academic lectures that will provide me with a cultural and political perspective that I hope to carry along with me outside of the trip. I am eager to experience business from another scope and implement foreign principles and ways of thinking into my existing knowledge. Overall, the academic, professional, and personal impact this trip provides will immensely aid my future endeavors and provide me with an unforgettable experience.
