Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Robby Jones, and I am a sophomore here at Pitt. I major in Finance and Business Analytics. I am from Wexford, Pennsylvania which is about 25 minutes north of campus. At the University of Pittsburgh, I am a part of the Undergraduate Finance Club, a brother at Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, and a player for the Men’s Club Basketball Team. This past summer, I worked for a local landscaping company around the Pittsburgh area, and I was a golf caddie at Sewickley Heights Golf Club. This summer, I will be interning at Viatris, a healthcare company, as a Commercial Finance Intern.

Plus 3 Germany

I decided to join the Plus 3 Germany program because I have always wanted to go to Europe. Germany is such a unique and powerful country, and I knew that I would get a lot out of this opportunity professionally and culturally. I did not want to spend a whole semester abroad, so I thought this was the perfect length and program for my wants. I also have an interest in the automobile industry. The company visits we will go on will embrace my interests and will expand my knowledge on the industry, but also the business aspect behind it.

Another reason why I chose this program was to experience a new culture. I am excited to try new foods, communicate with the Augsburg community and students, and explore new areas. This will be a new learning experience for me and I cannot wait to do it. Overall, this trip will be a great benefit to my personal, academic, and professional life. This will be something that I will never forget, and I am ready to embark on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
