Hi! My name is Angela, I am an early childhood education major at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching movies, crocheting, and hanging out with friends. Ever since, kindergarten, I have wanted to be a teacher. After school, I would always “play school” in my bedroom. My desire to teach led me to become an instructor at karate and work at my local library’s children’s department. These experiences have taught me many lessons and invigorated my love for my future profession.
This summer I will travel to Birmingham, United Kingdom for two weeks to study the connection between healthcare and education in the United States and the United Kingdom. I have never been out of the country before, so this is a brand-new experience that I am very excited about! I am looking forward to learning all about the education system in the UK and investigating the similarities and differences. As a future educator, it will be important and beneficial for me to learn different cultures’ education ideas. I can then apply these techniques that prove to be positive in my future classroom. Since this is my first time out of the country, I am excited to see how different our customs are and have fun sightseeing with the group!
