Greetings, my name is Zoe Mendelsohn. I am from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and I am a freshman in the College of Business Administration and the David C. Frederick Honors College. My intended majors are Supply Chain Management and Global Management. At Pitt, I am involved in several extracurricular clubs, including Smart Woman Securities — a women’s investment organization — and the Sports Business Association. I also just completed the LEADS program through the Business School where I learned about effective leadership. In my free time, I love exploring the Pittsburgh neighborhoods (Shadyside and the Strip District are my favorites) and finding unique places to eat!
I am excited to be embarking on Plus3 Cyprus this summer! As I mentioned, I am planning on majoring in Supply Chain Management and Global Management. Plus3 Cyprus, where we will be learning about maritime management and shipping, will be an incredible opportunity to explore these interests before I officially declare my major(s). My experiences studying supply chain in Cyprus will also serve as great preparation for a procurement internship I am completing this summer.
I chose Cyprus not only because of its advanced supply chain systems but also because of its rich history. I am eager to see the beautiful landscape and beaches and learn about Greek mythology. I am also excited to try the Mediterranean food. From a business perspective, I am interested in hearing about how business operations and practices are influenced by the polarizing political climate, being that Cyprus is divided between the Republic of Cyprus and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
I am grateful to have this unparalleled opportunity under the instruction of Dr. Renee Clark. I am counting down the days until we embark on our travels!
